Joseph Hepworth was a Leeds tailor. He acquired Nos.60 & 61 Market Place in 1888, and Nos.8 & 9 Silver Street in 1890, all of which were subsequently demolished to make way for the shopping arcade built by Hepworth. Depicted is a Victorian painted advertisement which probably dates back to the opening of the arcade, circa December 1895.
