A fine surviving motte mound, surrounded by a double bank and ditch arrangement and sited in a very commanding position with extensive outlook a few miles north of the much larger and much more famous Raglan Castle. Once a Norman administrative centre of a sub-lordship of Abergavenny, to the west.
