British Waterways work hard along here. For an urban canal, the water is pretty clear, the towpath is fair to good, and there's not lots of overhanging trees in the water. The main problem all along the route is the amount of trash tipped onto BW land, obviously from adjoining properties. This bit has been recently cleared, but there's still loads of old stuff lying around. Further back you can see bags of waste just dumped over the back fence from people's houses. But just imagine the wingeing if a British Waterways team went along and chucked it all back again.
