Opened in 1881 by the London & North Western Railway on its line from London Euston to Birmingham. It replaced an earlier station which had been on a different track alignment over to the left, to allow expansion of the LNWR engineering works. Wolverton was the junction for the Newport Pagnell branch from 1867-1967.
