Sign indicates the directions for Six Dales Trail walkers - a long distance footpath between Otley and Middleham. I have noticed a previous contributor to this square is John Sparshatt - I believe he wrote the definitive guide to this trail, and I am sure his work is available in all good bookshops or on Amazon. This particular fingerpost can be seen at Summer Side, now a stunted ruin above Roundhill Reservoir.
