Now occupied by a firm of solicitors, the building was once used as the offices of Gifford Fox & Co Holyrood lace mill. William Francis Fox 1837-1905 was in partnership with James William Gifford and two others. The basic lace netting was sent to Nottingham where William lived, to be patterned and finished. (William Fox was a grandson of Thomas Fox the woollen manufacturer of Tonedale Mills, Wellington Image).
