Dickens Heath a new Village, building started in 1997 with the first house completed in 1998, in 2002 a primary School was opened, the waterside phase ( pictured here) was finished in 2006. The development was supposed to be finished during the last 2 years but the recession has seen a slump in home buying so the building has slowed down. It is very strange approaching by the canal as one minute you are in solitary rural wilderness and the next in a ultra modern housing development, the first time we cruised along here we did not know it existed so it was a surreal experience!
