Big and regular Italianate. It is of two builds and the join is evident. The right-hand five bays are by George Somers Clarke, 1855-57, for James Hutchinson, a London stockbroker. Then, in 1896-1902, R.A. Briggs faithfully followed the original when he added the six bays to the left for Sir James Horlick (as in the drink). An Ionic arcade runs along the whole length. Grade II listed. It is now the Cowley Manor Hotel.
