The inscription reads: This monument / was erected / by the Council of the / Borough of Birmingham / in memory of / Thos. Standbridge Esqre. / who for fifteen years / filled the office of / Town Clerk of this Borough, / died February 10th. 1869, / aged 52 Years. / Buried at Water Orton / in this County.
