Finsbury is no longer a local authority in its own right. It was a borough from 1900 until 1965 when it became part of the London Borough of Islington. The town hall on a triangular island site was unveiled by Lord Rosebery in June 1895. The architect was C. Evans-Vaughan. It is listed grade 2* (list entry number 1293112).
