Now Edinburgh International Airport. This aircraft will be familiar to all who visit Edinburgh Airport. Not sure what the aircraft actually is*, since Spitfire Mk Ia ‘XT-D' (L1067) ‘Blue Peter' of No 603 Squadron was the personal aircraft of 603 [City of Edinburgh] Squadron Commander, Squadron Leader George Denholm DFC, who bailed out of it on the 30th of August 1940 over Snargate, Kent after combat with a Bf 110. *J Macgregor has pointed me to http://www.scotlandsplaces.gov.uk/record/rcahms/70030/edinburgh-raf-turnhouse-airfield/rcahms?item=1217727#carousel in which it is mentioned that the Spitfire, originally at the entrance to RAF Turnhouse, is a fibre glass replica.
