The statue in Exeter High Street outside the central branch of Boots was erected in "The Year of the Pedestrian" (1989) by Devon County Council. The work is by the sculptress Carole Vincent. Copies are in Plymouth, Torbay and Barnstaple. It is noteworthy that the adult pedestrians do not have legs. The woollens were added early in March 2013
