An old path traverses this little valley here below the steepest or gorge-like section. The paths here were, I believe, laid out in the 19th century to compete with or maybe complement the well known Piercefield Walks lower down the Wye Valley - a touring mecca at the time - and guides were appointed to show visiting gentry and tourists the routes and returns. Today it's a bit more rough-and-ready or naturalistic. And mountain bikers are maybe the most common visitors.
