Quite a grand sight, a heightened sense of, er, height imparted by the profusion of giant Ionic pilasters and the chimneystacks. The house can trace its origins back to the mid C17th, though it has undergone several bouts of modernisation later in the C17th and in the late C18th or early C19th. Grade I listed. Behind is the spire of St Gregory (Image]). The date of the photo is uncertain.
