This edifice was erected to celebrate the Millennium. As well as acting as a sundial, there are depictions of events in the history of Long Compton over the last 2,000 years, explained in a nearby information board Image] We are walking Shakespeare's Way, but even if he came this way he would not have known the events of almost the last quarter of this time frame.
