St Mary's House, Bedford

Image: © Stephen Richards Taken: Unknown

On Cardington Road. Built 1771-72 (the date of 1707 given by the listing is based on a datestone brought from elsewhere) with a good Doric doorcase. A typically handsome Georgian composition, the even number of bays notwithstanding. This was usually avoided so that symmetry could be preserved with a central door. Grade II* listed. The date of the photo is uncertain.
