Pretty, if occasionally muddy, footpath just south of Flaxmere. Flaxmere is an SSSI but its condition was (in July 2012) assessed to be "unfavourable" and "declining" due to drainage.http://www.sssi.naturalengland.org.uk/special/sssi/unit_details.cfm?situnt_id=1014639
