Taken from the attic of the former Bell public house, looking northwards along the A1 Great North Road. This bend is a notorious accident black spot, so it is perhaps appropriate that I caught an ambulance in the photo. The junction visible in the centre of the photo is that with Bell Lane. Behind the trees to the right is the Paxton pits nature reserve.
