On the left is the Swan Centre, a retail shopping precinct, built in 1968-1970. In the middle are two shop units in High Street. That on the left is a branch of NatWest Bank at 24 High Street. On its right is another of the town's many currently empty shops at 25-26 High Street. This was formerly occupied by Boots Opticians, who have moved to another address in the town. On the right of the picture is part of 1 High Street, which was occupied by retailer T J Hughes until August 2011. The store closed following the company being placed into administration and has remained empty since then.
