Walkers heading towards Quarry Hill (a 'C' road) on the other side of the Erewash Valley Golf Course - behind the conifers - and who have arrived here through the nearby access tunnel beneath the M1 motorway (on the embankment to the left) are guided along this tract of land; the first part of a 'permissive' path. The motorway, built in the mid 60s, forms the administrative boundary between NG10 and DE7.
