A small pond and the club house of the Erewash Valley Golf Club seen from part of the club's boundary just metres away from a stretch of the M1 motorway that overlooks it, i.e. behind the photographer. The golf club was formed in 1905 and some maps continue to identify land belonging to it on the opposite side of the M1 motorway, linked by an agricultural access tunnel. The condition of the pasture however, seems to suggest that it may be currently being used by a local farmer for cattle-grazing.
