Having left the Stoney Clouds Nature Reserve on the Sandiacre side of the M1 motorway, walkers heading for Stanton-by-Dale find themselves exiting this agricultural access tunnel that connects pasture land and the Erewash Valley Golf Club. Although this stretch of the M1 did not exist in the early 1960s it now acts as part of the administrative boundary between NG10 and DE7.
