The station here was opened, or possibly resurrected, to serve the large new areas of housing in the vicinity. If you can get on the trains (quite difficult in the rush hour) you are just eight minutes from Haymarket and twelve minutes from Waverley, and there are plenty of services to Fife and points north, though most of the long-distance trains do not stop here. The train on the left is about to leave for the city centre, and the one on the right is about to pick up passengers to Dunfermline and Cowdenbeath.
