McCurdy and Co constructed this replica Elizabethan theatre from English oak. It was fabricated in several 18th C barns within a small Berkshire village. It opened in 1997 but during the, Meccano-like, assembly process not only were the prepared timbers transported to London from Berkshire but so were some village residents.
