It seems as though the winter flood water had been much higher and now there was plenty of debris in the arches of the bridge over the River Stour. Shakespeare's Way stays this side of the bridge, but it is well worth crossing over to visit Shipston (formerly Sheepstown). Indeed, our day's walk had finished so we went to the bus stop from here to get a bus back to our car.
