This empty house is included in a 12.72 hectare greenfield site zoned for housing, comprising two steeply sloping fields to the north of the B6374 on Melrose Road. Locals are of the opinion that this house will be demolished, but according to the Scottish Borders Council Planning Guidance Brief for the site, it is to be retained. It would be a shame if this lovely old house was to be demolished.
