It used to be known as the Star at Llansoy when I was a lad, if I recall correctly. It has had mixed fortunes since. It was a traditional, destination country pub since the 1950's I believe, but lost its way in the 1990's maybe, It has enjoyed a rennaissance since and seems to have a fullish car park for Sunday lunch - always a good indicator. It has a wonderful location, with distant views to the Sugar Loaf at Abergavenny. If further inducement were needed the local CAMRA branch obviously rate it too. And if that doesn't cut the mustard then rugby aficianado's can roar, bawl, leap, groan, moan, sing, sob and generally gob-off here during the upcoming Six Nations championship. What more could anyone want?
