This steeply sloping field to the north of Melrose Road (B6374) is part of a 12.72 hectare greenfield site that has been allocated for housing in the Scottish Borders Local Plan. This is a view towards Galashiels town centre with Meigle Hill in the background on the left. The town sits in a valley system in rolling Border countryside, and with little or no suitable level building sites remaining, new housing developments are creeping up on the hillsides. New houses on this site will have superb views with a south-southwest aspect.
