In common with several other parks in the city, Phoenix Park has had various exercise apparatus installed which is free to use. The equipment has been surprisingly undamaged by vandals. Phoenix Park is maintained with a lot of care, the local community being fully involved. The land here was a coalmine and brickworks for hundreds of years, until becoming a park for the people of Blakenhall in the 1960s. Image]
