Phoenix Park is a well maintained area of park land with an enclosed adventure playground with climbing apparatus, a football pitch and other facilities including a recently installed superloo! The local community has been fully involved in recent development of this park. http://www.phoenix-park.org.uk/ The land here was a coalmine for hundreds of years, until becoming a park for the people of Blakenhall in the 1960s.
