One of two pubs in the village and the oldest ... the second being the Rockingham Arms. The building dates from the 17c and was probably a Manor House. It was converted into an Inn in the early 18c. The space in front of the Inn was used as a market place before shops opened in the village. The spire of the new Parish Church is visible above the roof. See also ...
