Ladies Mile

A public open space that is also a local nature reserve. It lies on the ridge above what was Eastwick Bottom which was filled in the 1930s by the Mackie Avenue estate which is just visible through the snow to the right. Ladies Mile was the name given to an old drove road that headed west from Patcham to Old Boat Corner in the 19th century that became popular as a long distance ride for horsewomen.
