The Railway Preservation Society Of Ireland, based at the old excursion station beside the regular Whitehead station, operates a series of main-line steam trips throughout Ireland during the summer months and is possibly the only railway preservation society in the U.K. to have such regular and comprehensive access to a countrywide working railway network . The Portrush Flyer, seen here approaching Antrim, is a popular attraction taking enthusiasts to the resort of Portrush on the North Antrim coast with its beautiful scenery and beaches.
