Just beyond its junction with the Barnstaple line. The latter railway runs beyond the fir trees. The line seen here once carried trains to Plymouth and the Atlantic Coast Express ran to Bude and Padstow. It later became known as the ‘Withered Arm’. Looking east-north-east
