Opened in 1888 by the Barry Railway on its line from Pontypridd to Barry Docks. Cadoxton was where the Barry Railways's lines from Cogan and Pontypridd (via Wenvoe) joined the Taff Vale Railway's line from Cardiff via Penarth and Sully. Of the three former lines north of Cadoxton, the only remaining one in 2013 was Cardiff via Cogan to Barry. View south west towards Barry Docks and Barry Island (also Bridgend via Rhoose) some six years before a footbridge was constructed. Before rationalisation, there used to be a further 2 platform faces to the extreme left of the image.
