The Bus Depot, Barry viewed from the east

Viewed across Broad Street. The depot was built in the late 1930s for Western Welsh who at their peak operated a fleet of c700 vehicles throughout South Wales. The Western Welsh insignia remains on the wall, centre left. Since 2009, the depot has been the home of the Cardiff Transport Preservation Group. The depot is currently used as a storage and restoration centre for their group vehicles and those of other private owners of preserved buses. The Group's aim is that, in time, the depot will be a transport museum.
