Viewed from the corner of Dursley Road. The houses are in the late Georgian style, which probably dates them to c1800. If that estimate is about right, they were built several decades before there was a railway and station in Shirehampton (the 1860s). My guess is that when the houses were built, and for several decades afterwards, this part of Station Road (between the railway station and the River Avon) was an (unnamed?) track connecting the houses with the road that is now the A4. There is a King George VI postbox http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/3297590 in the wall on the right.
