Opened in 1859 by the London and South Western Railway as a replacement for an earlier terminus station, because a through station was required on the 'Portsmouth and Guildford Direct' line. View south west towards Milford and Portsmouth before a new footbridge was built. See Image] for an image taken in the opposite direction some 5 years later.
