Sanquhar: the post office

Sanquhar's post office is reckoned to be the oldest in the world, in terms of continuous presence in the same premises. It has been here since 1712. The counter date-stamp used at the office is specially inscribed: SANQUHAR "1712" DUMFRIESSHIRE
