Opened probably c.1850 (but not in a regular timetable until 1870) by the North Eastern Railway on its line from Newcastle upon Tyne to Berwick upon Tweed, this station closed to passengers in 1958 and completely in 1964. View north from the level crossing towards Acklington and Berwick. The station was the junction for the Amble branch between 1879 and 1930, which diverged to the right just north of the station.
