Opened in 1978 by British Rail on its Darlington to Bishop Auckland branch. View east. This used to be a junction without a station - the Clarence Railway used to go straight on here with the line to Darlington curving away to the right. Now there's a station but no junction - the Clarence Railway has long since gone.
