Viewed from Market Square with a lone horsewoman the only traffic on this normally busy road. The road flooded last week when the Cuckmere burst its banks and still has signs up at both Seaford and Berwick end indicating the road is closed though it is possible to drive the length but it necessitates a diversion via two narrow lanes, Winton Street and West Street. The cottages on the left date back to the 17th and 18th centuries whilst the terrace to the right was added in the first decade of the 20th century. Rose Cottage is the flint faced house at the bottom of the incline next to the junction with Sloe Lane.
