The chemical works dominate this scene, albeit in the background of the waterlogged fields of Preston. The direction of the impression on the land of farm machinery highlights the course of Old Fleet, which can just be seen to the left of the housing on the extreme right. Viewed from the embankment forming the eastern boundary of the Alderman Kneeshaw Recreation Centre, Kingston upon Hull.
