Ballyveaghmore Road runs northwards through the Townland of Ballyveaghmore. The name is the corruption of the Irish Baile Mhic an Bheatha Mor meaning 'McVeigh's townland (great). The settlement pattern has individual farms as its basis with a more recent infill of houses and bungalows. The eastern mournes form the background.
