Marsden Village, there were nine rows of terraced houses here which housed the miners who worked Whitburn Colliery plus a Co-op store, Methodist Chapel Miners' Institute, Reading Room and allotments, which were pulled down in various stages eventually the last buildings were demolished in 1977, the principal street was Hylton Lane.
