View northwards, towards Watford Junction and the North on the ex-LNWR West Coast Main Line, junction of the loop of the local lines which go round via Watford High Street. The station was 'Bushey & Oxhey' until 24/9/82. The Fast lines are in the foreground, while at the back, beyond the Slow lines can be seen the platforms on the Loop line. The LNWR were pioneers in electrifying (DC) the Local lines: their electric trains ran Euston - Watford Junction from 4/4/17, joined by Baker Street & Waterloo Railway 'Tube' trains two weeks later, which joined at Queens Park. However, from 10/65 the LT 'Bakerloo' service through to Watford Junction was confined to just four trains in peak hours and ceased from 24/9/82. It was then cut back to Queens Park (with for a few months some trains on to Stonebridge Park): from 4/6/84 Bakerloo trains worked again to Harrow & Wealdstone, but in peak hours only until 16/5/88.
