Opened in 1840 by the Preston & Wyre Joint Railway on its line from Preston to Fleetwood, this station was closed in 1890 when it was replaced by Kirkham & Wesham station, immediately behind the photographer. View west towards Blackpool, a few years before the line was electrified and the number of tracks reduced from 4 to 3.
