A brace of Class 86 locomotives heads a container service through Camden Road station towards Camden Road West Junction where this train will fork left towards Camden Junction and the West Coast mainline. Camden Road is an important hub on the North London Line. As well as connecting to the West Coast mainline, it also provides a connection to the East Coast mainline at Freight Terminal Junction. The North London Line itself (the right fork in the photo) connects with the great Western mainline at Acton and the Southern at Mitre Bridge and Kew. To the east it connects with Stratford and Temple Mills. With a very regular London Overground service, the freight trains have to fit in between the many passenger trains, making Camden Road a very busy station.
