Smithy Bridge railway station, Greater Manchester

Opened in 1868 by the Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway on its line from Manchester to Leeds, the original station closed in 1960 and was demolished. It was reopened in 1985 by Greater Manchester PTE. View north east towards Littleborough and Todmorden. The original platform for this direction of travel had been on the far side of the level crossing, in the distance.
