Oak Hurst Mills near Ambergate

A selection of derelict buildings - remnants of the former wire-making factory established by the Johnson family here in the 19th Century. A public footpath runs through the site which is nearly a kilometre in length. Some of the associated units on the opposite side of the river are still operational but there were no signs of life here apart from the sound of somebody hammering away inside one of the larger buildings.
